EMCOMO Solutions supplies MMC computer systems

EMCOMO Solutions supplied a lightweight conduction-cooled Computer System as Mission Management Computer for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The system is based on the following components:
- ultra-lightweight custom built conduction-cooled chassis (IP65)
- Custom 5 slot backplane with integrated power supply slot
- Custom I/O transition board incl. slot for SSD module
- 28V DC Power Supply
- 2x x86 Core i7 CPU board
- PowerPC CPU board
- Xilinx FPGA Board
- Gigabit Ethernet Switch
- SSD module on I/O transition board
The ultra-leightweight conduction-cooled chassis was built according to the customer requirements with a project specific backplane. All I/O signals from the boards are routed through the backplane to the I/O transition board so no internal cabling is needed. An SSD module is mounted on the I/O transition module and serves as mass storage for the Core i7 CPUs.
The 3 CPUs and the FPGA are internally connected via GbE through the Gigabit Ethernet Switch. The external I/Os of the system are 5x GbE, 3x Serial and 2x GPIOs.
All external I/Os and the 28 VDC are routed to the 38999 connectors mounted on the transitions board.
