12 GSPS DAC, Dual 2.6 GSPS ADC, 250 MSPS ADC FMC Module
An ADC/DAC FMC module is an FPGA Mezzanine Card that adds high-speed analog input and/or analog output channels to an FPGA carrier board.
- ADC means analog-to-digital converter. It converts real-world analog signals into digital samples the FPGA can process.
- DAC means digital-to-analog converter. It converts digital data from the FPGA into an analog waveform.
The module usually includes:
- One or more ADC or DAC channels
- Analog front-end circuitry
- Clock and synchronization inputs
- Trigger connections
- FMC or FMC+ connector
- Sometimes JESD204B or JESD204C high-speed serial interfaces
- Front-panel RF connectors such as SMA

Description:
FMC253 is an FMC per VITA 57 specification. The unit utilizes the following components to provide dual channel high-speed ADC, single channel high-speed DAC and single channel low-speed ADC:
- AD9689 for dual channel ADC providing 14-bit conversion rates of up to 2.6 GSPS
- AD9164 (option for AD9162) for DAC 16-bit conversion rates of up to 12 GSPS
- AD9467 to offer an additional ADC channel providing 16-bit conversion at up to 250 MSPS
The unit provides a Trigger Input/Output, clock and all analog Input/Output via SSMC connectors.
